How to Appeal a Hinge Ban Successfully

Updated: 4 days ago

Step 1) Open Hinge and submit your appeal

When you open the app, click the Appeal button.

You’ll be asked to write your appeal in a text box. Keep your message short, respectful, and professional.

Explain that you believe your account may have been banned by mistake and that you would like your account reviewed.

Avoid:

• Being aggressive• Using disrespectful language• Admitting to things that violate their terms• Sending multiple appeals at once

A simple and respectful appeal usually works better.

Step 2) Wait for Hinge’s email response

After submitting your appeal, Hinge will send you an email confirming they received it.

This does not mean your account is back yet. It only means your appeal was submitted successfully.

Check your:

(A) Inbox(B) Spam folder(C) Promotions folder

Sometimes their email can take a little time, so be patient.

Step 3) Watch for an ID verification email

If your appeal moves forward, Hinge may ask you to verify your identity.

They’ll send you an email with a verification link.

Important things to know:

(1) The link usually only works one time(2) Have your ID ready before clicking it(3) Make sure your camera works properly(4) Complete everything in one sitting

If you click the link and leave before finishing, the link may expire and stop working.

Step 4) Submit your ID

Upload your ID and complete the verification process.

Make sure:

(A) Your ID is clear(B) Your name is visible(C) Your photo is easy to see(D) Your information matches your Hinge account details

Blurry photos or incorrect information can slow things down or lead to another denial.

Step 5) Wait for the final decision

After you complete ID verification, you may see a confirmation screen showing that your verification was received.

This is usually a good sign.

At this point:

(1) Your account may be restored quickly(2) You may receive another email update(3) You may need to wait while they finish reviewing your account

Be patient and avoid repeatedly logging in and out.

If your appeal gets approved

If your appeal is approved, your account will usually be restored.

Keep in mind:

(A) Your matches may still be there(B) Your account visibility may be lower at first(C) Future violations could lead to another ban

Once your account is back, follow Hinge’s rules to avoid getting banned again.

If your appeal gets denied

If you receive a message saying your appeal was denied and you can no longer submit another appeal, that usually means the ban is permanent.

At that point:

1) Do not keep sending repeated emails2) Do not spam support3) Understand that your appeal options may be over

Your remaining option may be creating a new account.

If you create a new account

If you decide to make a new account, keep in mind Hinge may track things like:

(A) Phone number(B) Device information(C) Photos(D) Payment methods(E) Face verification
